How to create a toddler-friendly itinerary:

One major activity a day only. Toddlers don’t need packed schedules and honestly, neither do parents on vacation 😭 One “main event” a day usually keeps everyone happier and less overstimulated.

Build the itinerary around naps, not the other way around. A well-rested toddler changes the entire vibe of the trip. Also, be aware of timezones!!

Prioritize walkable spots whenever possible. Choosing cafés, parks, restaurants, and shops close to each other saves so much energy from constantly buckling and unbuckling car seats.

Always leave buffer time between plans because toddlers operate on their own timeline lol. Diaper changes, snack breaks, playground detours, and random “carry me” moments are guaranteed.

Pick restaurants that are actually toddler-friendly too. High chairs, quick service, stroller space, and food they’ll actually eat matter more than aesthetics at this stage 😂

Alternate busy activities with calmer ones. Shopping after a playground stop just works better than doing two overstimulating activities back to back.

Also, toddlers LOVE nature! It’s honestly one of the best forms of sensory play for them. Leaves, rocks, sand, water, flowers, sticks… they stay entertained for so long with the simplest things.

And don’t forget the emergency boredom kit: snacks, stickers, downloaded shows, mini toys, books, and anything that buys you at least 15 peaceful minutes lol.

A toddler-friendly itinerary isn’t about doing less. It’s about making the trip enjoyable for everyone. 🫡
