PANGASINAN MARPSTA ARRESTS THREE INDIVIDUALS FOR ILLEGAL WILDLIFE TRADING IN PANGASINAN
​
On September 3, 2026, personnel of the Pangasinan Maritime Police Station (MARPSTA), led by PMAJ RACHEL V CORPUZ, Station Chief, together with operating Maritime Law Enforcement Teams (MLETs), conducted separate entrapment operations that resulted in the arrest of three individuals for illegal wildlife trading.

​The joint operations, conducted under the supervision of PLTCOL SANTOS B BALDOVIZO, Acting Chief of Regional Maritime Unit 1 (RMU 1), and in close coordination with the Department of Environment and Natural Resources – Community Environment and Natural Resources Office (DENR-CENRO) Central Pangasinan, were carried out in Brgy. Magsaysay, Labrador; Brgy. Lucao, Dagupan City; and Brgy. Socony, Bugallon, Pangasinan.

​The suspects were apprehended for violation of Chapter IV, Section 27(e) (Trading of Wildlife) of Republic Act No. 9147, otherwise known as the Wildlife Resources Conservation and Protection Act.

The arrested individuals, together with the confiscated wildlife and other pieces of evidence, were turned over to the appropriate authorities for proper disposition and the filing of appropriate charges.

​The PNP Maritime Group, through Regional Maritime Unit 1, remains steadfast in intensifying law enforcement operations and strengthening inter-agency coordination to protect the country’s wildlife resources and rich maritime environment.
