Preparing the house for the summer holidays! With the punishing heat in Manila, it’s time to spend more time in the province.

Today’s harvest!
Parang nagsisimbulo ng tapang, pulos maanghang! Yung dragon fruit naman matamis ang loob, pero nakakatusok ang dahon
Malapit na ang mid term elections! Huwag tayong panghinaan ng loob! Tutulan natin ang mga political dynasty lalo na dito sa Batangas. 😔

15th day of urban gardening:
FMI lang (for my information)
1. Transplanted 24 pcs of cucumber
2. Transferred 20 pcs of romaine lettuce to seedling pots
3. Transplanted 6 pcs of sigarillas
4. Prepared 4 raised beds for carrots, basil and parsely, bell pepper and arugula

My lavender plant has started to bloom!
For about 10 years now,I’ve successfully grown from seedlings and propagated lávender plants but none of those I’ve planted ever bloomed. And yesterday was I surprised to see some stems developing into flowers! and for real, lavender flower indeed.
The blooming lavender by the way was propagated from my 10 year old plant.

Coffee, cream puff from Dulcissima Bake Shop and pork shrimp siomai - 130 pesoses lang, winner!

Medyo matabang yung kape, pero puede na. Just discovered yung Dulcissima Bake Shop - masarap ang cream puff nila and of course yung famous cheesecake bar😊

It’s a Sunday; started gardening early with 2 hired help and Ate. This time though I am taking a break from ornamental plants and shifting to planting veggies and herbs. Whilst my philos and ferns, etc have given much joy, it’s time to grow food instead.
Progress to date:
1. Romaine, basil, cherry tomatoes have sprouted
2. direct planted in pots/containers
cilantro in 6 pots
Basil in 5 pots
Okra - 3 pots
Spring onions - 2 pots
3. Direct planted in garden plots
- sigarillas - 10
4. Transplanted:
- tomatoes in side planters
- 2 pots onions
- 1 pot spring onion
Tasks undertaken today:
5. Prepared 8 plots, mulched and conditioned for :
- direct sowing of okra, arugula, romaine,
Siling pangsigang
- transplanting of tomatoes
6. Prepared 5 big containers for
- carrots 3 units
- bell pepper 2 units

Tip for the day: prepare your soil and ensure the right potting mix:
Potting mix for carrots - 60% garden soil
20% sand, 15% rice hull and 5% vermicast

Was walking around the village and picked these ylang ylang flowers to make a home scent!
Ang saya naman dito sa village namin, abundant ang flowering trees! and ylang ylang at that and so much more.
