Today, on World Water Day, we come together to celebrate the vital importance of water and the urgent need to preserve and utilize it wisely. Water is not just a resource; it is a lifeline for communities around the globe. As we reflect on this day, Real Relief is proud to highlight a smart solution that contributes to water conservation and hygiene – the Supertowel™.

Our laboratory studies have shown significant water savings when using the Supertowel™ compared to traditional handwashing methods. For instance, handwashing for 15 seconds with bar soap typically consumes around 760 ml of water. Extending this to 60 seconds increases water usage to about 1,650 ml. In contrast, the Supertowel™ requires only an average of 52 ml of water when soaked and wrung, remaining damp enough to be used for the next 3-5 hours.

The world is confronted by an astonishing number of crises, conflicts, and wars. The burden of these devastating challenges is most often unevenly distributed in the poorer and more fragile communities, countries. The needs are growing and in 2023 we promise to continue our work to build capacity and empower more people in some of these regions around the world. We will work hard to raise the funds needed for setting up local Safepad productions to secure:
• Employment of local women allowing them to generate a sustainable income
• A sustainable supply chain through local production
• Large annual savings for both users and humanitarian organizations
• Local involvement and capacity building
• Tailor-made Safepad to meet local needs
• Expand the Safepad product range
