Ano ang tamang oras ng pagpapaaraw para makakuha ng sapat na Vitamin D pero 'di iitim ang balat?
Sa programang "Pinoy MD," ipinaliwanag ni Dr. Oyie Balburias na walang rason ang mga Pilipino para kulangin sa Vitamin D dahil sa ating araw. Ano nga ba ang tamang oras para magpaaraw at makakuha ng sapat na bitaminang ito?
Sinabi ni Dr. Balburias na hindi dapat katakutan ang araw dahil mahalaga rin ito sa kalusugan. Sa sinag nito, makakakuha na ang isang tao ng 10,000 to 15,000 units ng Vitamin D, depende na rin sa skin tone.
Pero kung ang isang tao ay may kaitiman ang balat, mas matagal ang kakailanganin niyang exposure.
Para sa mga may takot na umitim, maigi ang magpasikat sa araw ng alas-7 hanggang alas-10 sa loob ng 30 minuto, na hindi gaanong magpapaitim at ligtas sa radiation.
Kung mababa sa 10 nanograms per ml ang vitamin D ng isang tao, dapat siyang kumuha ng 10,000 units ng Vitamin D kada araw. Para naman sa may mga kondisyon, kailangan ng 8,000 units ng Vitamin D kada araw.
Kung normal naman ang lebel ng Vitamin D sa dugo na 30-40 nanogram per ml, kailangan ng tao ng nasa 5,000 units kada araw.
Gayunman, nagbabala ang doktor na ipasukat pa rin ang lebel ng Vitamin D sa katawan dahil meron din itong toxicity level.
