The Face is My Canvas

This year has been a blessed year for my hair and make-up services business and I’d like to thank the Lord 1. For giving me the gift of enhancing His already wonderful creation, 2. For giving me the strength and the courage to keep on, and 3. For giving me clients.

People who know me know that I’m not very comfortable with human interactions, but I’m stubborn, likes to keep challenging myself, and I LOVE ART. – Not just make-up but the whole idea of color, skill, science, and technique that comes with hair and make-up artistry. So I became a freelance hair and make-up artist.

Carrying all my stuff is hard. Standing for long hours is hard. Doing makeup on more than 1 person is hard. Not being able to book a Grab going home is hard. TBH, there are gigs that aren’t even worth my Grab rides. But I still do it despite all of this because while make-up may have been a source of some stress and anxiety, it has also been a great source of wisdom and joy (…and of course, income!).

To everyone who have been trusting The Face is My Canvas for hair and makeup, those who bear with minor inconveniences caused by me usually being a one-woman team, those who keep coming back as well as those who refer me to other potential clients, THANK YOU and cheers to another year of beautiful faces and lovely hairstyles!
