A simple guide to step up your portfolio (⁠｡⁠♡⁠‿⁠♡⁠｡⁠)

Step #1: remove blemishes.
Just like spot concealing, individually remove unwanted blemishes to keep the base as clean as you want.

Step #2: clean the brows.
In some cases, stubborn brow hairs can be difficult to conceal specially on minimal makeup looks, so feel free to digitally remove them to achieve a clean and sharp eyebrows.

Step #3: intensify eyeliners.
Some clients have very sensitive eyes and as a makeup artist we still want to achieve the best look for them, intensifying eyeliners post photoshoot can make the entire look precised.

Step #4: re-intensify colors.
Blushes, contours and eyeshadow can sometimes be washed away by the light and might digitally register as pale in photos. Don't hesitate to slightly recolor these parts of the makeup to bring the entire makeup look back to life.

Step #5: cover 5 o'clock shadows.
Some clients, specially transwomen naturally have facial hair. To achieve a more feminine look as requested by the client, digitally remove stray hair and touch up the places where you want to remove the green pigment caused by hair growth that the color corrector couldn't cover.

Step #6: Color Grading and Detail Enhancement.
Each Makeup Artist has their signature output, some has a dramatic approach to their photos, some prefers a light and refreshing peg for their outputs. Regardless, feel free to enhance your photos to your liking but always make sure to not overdo it to the point where your artistry is overshadowed.

These are just some of the ways to upscale your artistry. All of these are totally optional, at the end of the day always rely on your skills and do your best to perfect your craft.꒰⁠⑅⁠ᵕ⁠༚⁠ᵕ⁠꒱⁠˖⁠♡
