When my energy is off, I stay away from people until I get myself together. It’s not about shutting people out—it’s about protecting my peace. I’ve learned that forcing myself to engage when I’m not in the right space only drains me further. Sometimes, the best thing I can do is step back, be alone with my thoughts, and give myself the time to realign. Silence becomes my reset button, and solitude becomes the place where I find clarity again.
Not everyone will understand this, and that’s okay. Some will take my distance personally, not realizing that it has nothing to do with them and everything to do with me. But I no longer feel the need to explain why isolation heals me. Those who truly know me will trust that when I return, I’ll be better—not just for myself, but for them too.
