LONG LIVE THE FAMILY!
Long live love, faith and hope!
How can we thank God for all the joy that he has allowed us to experience? There are not enough words or actions to show our gratitude for the wonderful gift of marriage and family. All we can do is acknowledge our misery, praise his majesty, and put ourselves at his service.
Lord: do what you will from us. We give you our marriage, our fertility, our youth, our energy, our projects, our hopes, fears, failures, weaknesses, in short, we offer you our family; may it be an instrument of your love.
May humanity once again believe in the Sacrament of Matrimony and in the sacred institution of the family through the love, peace and joy that we live in our home. May everyone see the same love of God in the love we have for each other.
May everyone see the great joy that saying "yes" to life brings. Today there are many couples who are afraid of having more children for different reasons. Meanwhile, there are couples who would like to have one or more children but aren’t able to. Let us be responsibly generous with our fertility and we will see how God never abandons us in our material and spiritual needs.
We are not a perfect family; far from it! We have a long way to go. Sometimes we get angry, we argue, we yell, we say words we later regret, in short: we make mistakes every single day.
What is also true is that we love each other deeply. We ask for forgiveness and we forgive those who offend us. We fully trust in God’s mercy. We are a family of prayer and sacraments. Sometimes with a lot of sacrifice since we are a tired family. Lord: give us your rest!
We know that we will never be like the Holy Family. Each family is unique and special. What we do ask Jesus, Mary and Joseph is that they help us to be the family that God wants us to be today in this present time. He knows what he wants from us and we ask for his grace so that he helps us to discern what he wants from us. So be it. 👨👩👧👦
