When messaging someone through text or a messenger it’s important to be respectful, clear, and mindful of their time. Here are some etiquette tips to follow:

1. Be Respectful and Considerate
- Use polite language and greetings, especially in formal or professional conversations.
- Avoid excessive use of capital letters (which can be interpreted as shouting).

2. Timing Matters
- Avoid sending messages too early in the morning or too late at night unless it’s urgent.
- If someone doesn’t respond immediately, be patient instead of sending multiple follow-ups.

3. Keep It Clear and Concise
- Get to the point while keeping the message friendly.
- Avoid unnecessary long texts unless needed.

4. Know Your Audience
- Use formal language for work-related or professional messages.
- For casual conversations with friends, emojis, GIFs, and informal language can be appropriate.

5. Respect Privacy
- Avoid sending sensitive information unless necessary.
- Don’t assume someone is always available just because they’re online.

6. Acknowledge Messages
- If someone asks you a question or needs a response, reply in a timely manner.
- A simple Got it! or Thanks!can show you acknowledge the message.

7. Avoid Overuse of Voice Notes or Large Media Files
- Some people prefer text over voice messages, so ask before sending long voice notes.
- Large files can take up storage, so make sure they’re necessary.
