Last week, we celebrated Darla’s 3rd birthday with an Under the Sea theme!🧜‍♀️🐠🐳🦈🌊

Every year, I make it a point to have a theme for her birthday, and this year was no different. Aside from the decorations, we always dress up for the occasion too. Mikey and I dressed up as lobsters/crabs with Lola to make it matchy-matchy, and also because we’re each other’s lobsters 🦞❤️

We thought Darla just didn’t get enough sleep the night before since she ended up sleeping on the couch the whole night during her party. When she woke up, we gathered and did our annual birthday photoshoot with the gang.

On the day of her birthday, she still wasn’t feeling herself. Then, just as I was about to leave for work, she vomited. That’s when I knew I had to bring her to the vet. I could really sense something was wrong. We did several tests: blood tests, blood chem, and a blood parasite test. It turned out she had ehrlichia again, as her platelet count and red blood cells were low.

The doctor gave her several meds, and since it was caught early, she didn’t need to be confined like last time. Even though she’s sick, she’s still her happy little self. She eats, drinks, and even plays with her sister, Lola. Hoping you feel better very soon, my Darlalala. We all love youuuuu!!! 💕🐾
