Large Vase Arrangement | Self-expression

What I loved most about this session was seeing how everyone interpreted the materials so differently. It was inspiring to see just how many possibilities lie in a single stem. Discovering so many materials for the first time, and seeing the incredible work everyone created with them was amazing. It was definitely a challenge that pushed me right out of my comfort zone, but in the best way possible. 🫶

Thank you Wagner Kreusch & Frida Kim

From the mountain orchard and the forest floor to the table.

Earthy, wild and deeply connected to the land of Yunnan.

Yunnan is China’s wild mushroom capital, and ganoderma is actually a medicinal mushroom.

Known locally as Fo Shou (佛手) or Five-Finger Citron, this ancient citrus contains no juice or seeds, and it is grown purely for its fragrant rind and pith. It’s also a traditional emblem of good fortune, happiness and longevity.

GATHER | Yunnan

An arrangement bigger than me. Created this oversized composition together with BLOOM BY AV | FLOWER SHOP & EVENT STYLIST

This session challenged how we see and use our materials from building sturdy structures to unlearning not to overthink the design, and just letting things naturally flow. Everyone gathered with different artistic eyes, but somehow it all came together so beautifully.

Mentored by two artists I truly admire, Frida Kim and Wagner Kreusch
Thank you so much for making this happen Vilia Lee蕙心

In the quiet, we are still thriving.

There are seasons when we move quickly, and seasons when we slow down. This month always feel like a quiet pause - a time to step back, observe, and prepare for what’s next.

And somehow, that pause brought me to Kunming. I’m here to learn from floral artists whose work I’ve admired for a long time, to experience their way of seeing and working with nature, and to immerse myself in the culture, people, and incredible floral landscape of Yunnan.

Sometimes, slowing down simply means making space - to be inspired, to learn, and to grow into the next season.

Legend says it rains on Qixi when the Weaver Girl and Cowherd reunite in the stars... I guess my birthday just comes with free celestial tears for my flowers. ☔️🌸 Happy Qixi Festival!

Floristry has taught me that you don’t always get to work under ideal circumstances.

Especially during this rainy season - flowers arrive differently, some are more delicate, some don’t open as expected, and sometimes you simply have to work with what is available.

But that’s part of the craft: learning to adapt without losing your intention.

When the conditions change, you change with them. You adjust your mechanics. You change your approach. You work around with what nature gives to you.

And I think that applies beyond flowers, too.

Doing your best doesn’t always mean having the best circumstances. Sometimes, it means learning to make the most of what you have, and still finding a way to create something beautiful.

The world feels different when you’ve seen more of it.

I’m grateful that at a young age, I was exposed to diversity, even in the workplace. Living in Korea and visitng other countries allowed me to meet people from different parts of the world, and that experience quietly expanded how I see life. I’ve seen how ‘normal’ can mean something completely different depending on where you are, and that there’s no one way to see or do things. That’s why I’m always pushing myself to try new styles, explore different techniques, and keep evolving because growth only happens when you move beyond what feels familiar.

Oceanic Fluidity | A Botanical Study in Light and Form

Beginning with the idea that space and form are experienced as an immediate sensory presence before their details are fully unravelled, this study explores the boundary of fluid motion by deconstructing oceanic elements into sculptural forms.

Conceptualized by Dalnim Studio upon observing the stellar performance element 'water', specifically how movement flows through fabric, and drawing inspiration from Iris van Herpen’s avant-garde haute couture, this design transforms sheer, iridescent textiles and botanicals into an expression of aquatic life.

Scribbles of a rough idea to recreate the shifting aquatic movement, honoring the beauty and vital energy of our deep seas.

This design uses light and fabric as central artistic mediums.

Living Corals🪸
It is also inviting us to look closely and appreciate the beauty of our waters. 🌊

Suspended amidst deep crimson blooms, fiery accents, sea-toned hydrangeas, and textural foliage, the fabric acts as liquid light, bridging organic nature with spatial set design.

Through this process, the work emphasizes that fluidity is not just a physical state, but an immersive sensory experience. From initial concept to final ex*****on, the piece was brought to life through hands-on experimentation, shared dialogue, and collective crafting by the team. A true study of how an idea evolves when given space to grow together.
