So how does a 1.2ct diamond look THIS big? 🤔
A big part of it is the pear cut. Pears tend to have more face-up spread than rounds or ovals at the same carat weight, which can make them look larger on the finger.
And this particular pear has a long, elongated proportion rather than a chunkier shape, giving it even more length and finger coverage, so your eye reads it as bigger than its actual carat weight. The same principle applies to marquise cuts too.
Then we added a modern half-bezel setting that extends slightly past the diamond’s edges, adding even more visual coverage to the overall silhouette.
So while the diamond is only 1.2ct, the cut + proportions + setting give it the visual presence of a much larger stone. 🤯

This was actually a ring I designed for myself.
One of the hardest parts of designing jewelry is knowing when to stop 🤔
Every curve, every millimeter, every proportion changes how a ring feels once it’s on the hand.
With this design, I wanted the gaps to be intentional. I wanted the gold to flow around the finger instead of forming one solid band, creating just enough negative space to make the ring feel lighter and more sculptural.
But I kept wondering:
“Is the band too bold? Is the diamond too delicate? Will they compete with each other?”
Thankfully, they don’t.
The negative space keeps the design feeling airy, while the sweeping gold naturally leads your eye to the diamond, making it feel like it’s almost floating.
It turned out exactly how I had imagined: bold, sculptural, and still elegant.
Safe to say… this one is staying in my personal collection 💛
