A few months ago Miranda Kerr announced that she uses rose-hip seed oil on her skin every night before bed. (Her organic skin care line, Kora, includes a rose-hip oil product.) If that isn't enough to convince you, Kate Middleton and Gwyneth Paltrow's facialist reportedly also uses it in her treatments. (Not to be outdone, hot Brit model David Gandy also admitted to using the oil.) So should we mere mortals try it?

Rose-hip seed oil comes from the seeds of a rose plant found in the Andes, and according to dermatologist Dr. Ariel Ostad, it might just be worth some space in your medicine cabinet.

"Rose-hip oil is packed with vitamins, antioxidants, and essential fatty acids which may correct dark spots and hydrate dry skin. It may also be helpful for reducing scars and fine lines," says Ostad. "It has skin rejuvenating properties like vitamin C and lycopene and is also good for sensitive skin types because it's nongreasy and light on the skin."

While I haven't tried it yet, I really want to (one of our editors just mentioned that she's a fan). People report that it's a dry oil and relatively lightweight, which is a must when you're applying oil to your face.
