A good lip tattoo doesn’t start with pigment. It starts with a plan.
Before we begin the actual tattooing, we map the lips and establish the intended shape first.
We look at the natural lip anatomy, asymmetry, proportions, Cupid’s bow, and vermilion border, not to force the lips into perfect symmetry, but to create a balanced design that works with their natural structure.

Not all micropigmentation is about enhancement. Some of it is about restoration.
Here in TMI, some conversations are beyond cosmetic tattooing and focuses on Paramedical & Restorative Micropigmentation.
From trauma-related brow reconstruction and lip restoration to scalp micropigmentation for surgical scars, these cases require more than simply knowing how to implant pigment.
They require anatomical awareness, color theory, tissue assessment, mapping, technique, and a deep understanding of what the client is trying to restore.
Because when you're working with altered tissue, scars, pigment loss, or features affected by trauma or surgery, the goal isn't to create something “perfect.”
The goal is to restore what was visually lost, as naturally and thoughtfully as possible.

One of the things we truly appreciate about our clients is when they come back and share their healed results with us. It means a lot to us. not only to see their progress, but to see how the pigment has settled over time.
Why do we assess lip tattoos at the 3-month mark?
Because at this stage, the skin has completed its primary healing and remodeling process, the implanted pigment has stabilized, and melanin activity has largely settled.
In simple terms: this is when we can see the most reliable representation of the healed result.
This is why we don't evaluate a lip tattoo based on how it looks immediately after the procedure. Fresh results can be influenced by swelling, inflammation, and temporary changes in pigmentation.
Fresh is not healed. The healed result is the result.
