[USAPANG DENTAL HEALTH]

Isa ang sweetened beverages sa mga pangunahing dahilan ng pagkasira ng ngipin ng mga chikiting. Ang sugar (glucose at fructose) na nasa inuming ito ay kinakain ng bacteria sa ating bibig na sya namang sumisira ng mga ngipin.

Lingid sa ating kaalaman, kahit ang fruit juices ay pwede ding makasira ng ngipin ng mga bata.

ANO ANG MAAARING GAWIN?
- Hangga’t maaari, iwasan ang sweetened beverages (softdrinks, fruit juices, milk tea, atbp.). Tubig ang safest na ipainom sa mga bata more than 1 year old, at gatas naman (especially breastmilk) sa mga bata less than 1 year old
- Ang fruit juices ay hindi maaaring ibigay sa mga bata less than 1 year old. Limitahan ito sa 4oz (ounces) sa edad 1-3 years old, at 4-6oz sa mga bata 4-6 years old.
- Pagkatapos kumain, painumin ng tubig ang bata para ma-flush out ang anumang food particles sa bibig;
- Sa mga bata more than 2 years old, iwasan na ang pagdede gamit ang feeding bottle. Iwasan na din ang pagtulog ng bata na kakatapos lang dumede. Dapat: inom ng gatas > magsepilyo > pagtulog;
- Kapag lumitaw na ang unang ngipin ng bata, pwede itong linisin gamit ang soft cloth o soft toothbrush, dalawang beses sa isang araw;
- Ang best time para bumisita sa dentista ay sa unang pagsulpot ng ngipin ni baby. Gawing regular ang pagbisita sa dentista, kada 6 na buwan;
- Turuan na din ang mga bata ng tamang flossing, para maiwasan ang pagkasira ng ngipin sa gilid;
- Importante din na tayo mismo ay magpakita ng magandang halimbawa sa ating mga chikiting - umiwas sa sweetened beverages, magsepilyo at least dalawang beses sa isang araw at mag-floss, at kumonsulta sa dentista kasama sina baby!
