✨ MILAGROSA ✨

“Milagrosa is a custom headress symbolizes the distinct festivals in Santa Rita, particularly the annual bountiful harvest of the Retenians, which represents the Duman festival.

The roses and bees represent the miraculous Saint Rita of Cascia, known as the Saint of the Impossible.
The farmer's hat, or 'turong,' symbolizes the protection, tradition, hard work, and resilience of the Retenians.
The carabao on top represents the farmers' trusted partner in the field.

The Duman on top symbolizes one of the Retenians' top heritage and culinary traditions.
The rosary symbolizes the entire spectrum of human life and the spiritual journey toward God through the life, death, and resurrection of Jesus Christ.

The Bahay Kubo is a pre-colonial indigenous house that symbolizes the culture, resilience, and rural identity of ritenians. it embodies the value of bayanihan practices.
The 10 barangay and Patron saint on the back depicts the deep faith to God of the whole retenians in Santa Rita.

Duman is made from lakatan malitu or pounded glutinous rice that is roasted and widowed to create a prize delicacy.
The roses also symbolize hope, love, and the miraculous intercession of the Patron Saint of Santa Rita, Saint Rita de Cascia, the patron saint of the impossible and limitless also known as milagrosa’’

“KASALPANTAYANAN”

The “Kasalpantayanan” is a custom headdress that visually encapsulates the rich cultural, religious, and economic life of the people of Santa Rita, Pampanga (Retenians). The name itself, likely derived from the Filipino word “pananampalataya” meaning faith, signifies the community’s profound religious commitment.

The roses and bees represent one of the miraculous stories of St. Rita, where she asked a visiting cousin to bring her a rose in the middle of winter, symbolizing the saint’s faith and divine intervention.
The rosary, and the image of the baby Jesus symbolize the deep faith of the Retenians in the Patron Saint of the Impossible and Limitless, Santa Rita de Cascia.

The 10 barangay on the back and Patron saint depicts the deep faith to God of the whole retenians in Santa Rita.
The rice field symbolizes represent some of the main and primary livelihoods of the Retenians.

The Basket and the Duman represents one of the festivals, celebrated as a bountiful harvest in Santa Rita. Duman is made from lakatan malitu or pounded glutinous rice that is roasted and widowed to create a prize delicacy.
The Putyukan Festival is celebrated to honor the faith of the Retenians in Santa Rita.

“GOLDEN HARVEST”

The "Golden Harvest" costume embodies the Philippines' rich culture and traditions, portraying the bountiful harvest of the farmers. Inspired by the Filipino farmers who ensure the nation's food security, the costume features attire made from native fabric and wood beads in the schemes of farming: green, gold, and earth colors.

The ensemble is completed by a basket slung over the shoulder, a quintessential accessory for carrying tools or harvested crops in the field. The Carabao back dress symbolizes labor and resilience. The Nipa huts or "Bahay kubo" on the top of the headdress represent the core values and lifestyle of Filipino farmers and the tradition of communal unity or "bayanihan".

The hand-painted cape beneath the back dress showcases the hardworking faces of Filipino farmers, representing the nation's backbone. Intricate beads and rhinestone details on the gold outfit depict farming life and scenes, celebrating the country's agricultural legacy.
