My Life as a Breast Cancer Survivor

Enjoying good health is everyone's birthright. ( plants) Herbs offer a healing relationship in which we can find good food and medicine to keep ourselves on track. I don’t want to write about any specific products as I don’t want to endorse anything, but I cant help NOT to share my journey to everyone specially to those who has the same diagnosis as mine.I want everyone to know, how I survived my 9 months chemotherapy and how The 8 berries of Frontrow LUXXE RENEW put me back in shape and lead my life as a breast cancer survivor.

I’m a breast cancer survivor, a wife, and a grandmother. What’s a normal day like for me? In addition of taking care of my family, health, and home, I am a Workforce business developer consultant and run a business with my husband in Medical and Educational robotics industry. But what I love most about my life is... am a cancer and autoimmune advocate. My days are about living with meaning, purpose, and simplicity.

Everyday, when my husband is getting ready for his work. I stay in bed for 10 minutes and start my day with gratitude, prayer, and forgiveness, then another 10 minutes of praying for my family and to those who are sufferings for their health and finances. Finally,while I’m getting ready for the day, and my bath rituals are at reach, my body products, toothpaste, and makeup are all nontoxic. I want to feel good about beginning each day taking care of my body, mind, and spirit, and being a cancer-preventing machine!

I’ve been dealing with dysfunction and joint pain, both latent side effects from chemo. So, my morning exercises are simple and gentle —a short walk, and face yoga and 2tabs of my 8berries for my stamina. My goal is to increase the intensity of my workouts at some point with longer walks, light jogs, and swimming. But for now, I need to strike a balance between gentle exercise and increasing the effort only when my body is ready.

I’m a big proponent of protein and fat in the morning, so breakfast is often an carrot juice made with some yummy cancer-fighting super foods and healthy mix-ins. Right now, my favorite combination is lemongrass, ginger,and beet. I’m always trying to learn more about being healthy and am trying to become knowledgeable in the supplement of my family in Frontrow.

From 9 a.m. till 5 pm are my power hours. I have the most energy and focus in the morning, so I stack my day with either labor-intensive or brain-challenging work during this time. I am the workforce of the people who run a medical clinic dedicated high end medical communication gadgets and me as a health conscious person is trying to be a healthy living for real life, in parallel to the breast cancer and autoimmune advocacy.

Over the last few years, we’ve tried to minimize the amount of toxic chemicals in our home, since environmental toxins can contribute to causing cancer. I either use nontoxic cleaners or ones I’ve made myself. The brain fog (thank you, chemo!) gets worse during late afternoon, so I don’t fight it. I can’t focus on anything and I’m completely exhausted. I’m learning to accept this time as scheduled rest time. In my personality, it’s difficult to slow down, but after everything I’ve been through, my body demands that Im not only to slow down, but to put it in park. If Mamma doesn’t take care of herself … Mamma can’t take care of anyone else! So, rest for me is a MUST.

Once dinner is cleaned up, I draw a warm bath with Epsom salts, Himalayan salt, and essential oils. I find that the combination of magnesium, sulfate, and trace minerals helps improve my sleep, stimulate the gut, reduce inflammation, and soothe muscles and joints — all of which are greatly needed as a cancer survivor. After my bath using my oatmeal soap bar with vit E, I slather on the lavender smell type of luxxe white reveal body lotion, and prepare the bedroom. Sleep is the most critical time of day for healing and restoration for anyone, but especially for cancer survivors. I’m passionate about a good night’s sleep! I want to wake up refreshed and full of energy so that I can fulfill my mission and passion of being an inspiration and advocate for my fellow cancer survivors. It took a dose of breast cancer for me to realize that every day is a gift and a blessing and should be lived to the fullest. I’m not slowing down any time soon. Well, except for nap time!

Today, I had a good dialogue with a doctor who I believe walks in the same direction as mine. My homeopathy dr's advocacy is amazing. Ilang taon na ang nakalipas, pero hindi ko padin nakakalimutan lahat ng nangyari. Mga panahong puno ng hirap at pakikipag-sapalaran sa buhay.

Hindi ako nakatapos ng pag-aaral. I had to stop schooling kase wala kaming pera. Walang magpapa-aral sakin. Masakit kasi gustong gusto ko pa mag-aral pero wala akong choice. Lumuwas ako ng Manila para kumita ng pera. Nangatulong sa kamag-anak, nagtinda ng meryenda, naglako ng paninda, nag-kargador, at marami pang iba.

Lumaki ako sa pamilyang kung gusto mo ng isang bagay, kelangan paghirapan mo bago mo makuha. Hindi naging madali lahat. Pero dahil sa kanila, hindi ako sumuko. I’ve been working so hard for my Family because I want to give them the life that they deserve.

Sa tuwing babalikan ko yung mga nangyari sa buhay ko, hindi ko maiwasan maiyak. Mga panahon na nangungutang yung lola ko. Mawawala ng ilang oras pero pagbalik walang pera. May bigas na dala bigay ng kapitbahay tapos ang ulam namin chichirya. Maswerte ako at nakapasok ako as a Call Center agent. Nakakatuwa kasi tuwing uuwi ako yung lola ko tatanungin niya ako anong gusto kong ulam tapos lulutuin niya yun for me.

For over 4 years of being a call center agent, napagtapos ko kapatid ko sa college, napa-ayos ko ang bahay namin, patuloy na nasusuportahan ang iba ko pang mga kapatid, at marami pang iba. For me that is enough. Makita ko lang silang masaya at nakakain ng tama nawawala pagod ko sa trabaho.

Pero dumating yung time na tinanong ko yung sarili ko, natutulungan ko naman sila pero anong tulong ang nagawa ko sa sarili ko.
