“One of my greatest fears has always been becoming a starving artist and resenting my own work,” she says. “If I want to sustain my art, I need to build a system that supports it. Growth has to remain sustainable—not just for the business, but for the life I want to live and the people who work with me.”

With new collection “Mga Bukas: Noon, Ngayon, at Bukas” for her namesake label .romero based in San Jose del Monte, Bulacan, where she manages a team of 50 people in her warehouse-cum-studio, the designer revisits a decade of textures, techniques, and hard-earned lessons while stepping out from behind the work and into wider view. Time, after all, has a way of rewarding the ones who stay—eventually, success speaks for itself.
