In the event that the laser does hit an eyebrow hair, it will just become lighter in colour. Eyebrow hairs have a lifespan of about two to four months, so they will fall out and grow back to their natural colour anyway.

During any laser tattoo removal, we require patients to wear eye protection. Because eyebrow tattoo removal is so close to the eyes, we use special protective stainless steel eye shields.

And, to minimise discomfort, we apply a topical numbing gel to the treated area before the laser tattoo removal treatment begins.

Here’s a list of a few of our aftercare instructions:

Apply the antibacterial cream as instructed by your laser technician.
Take particular care when washing your hair. Keep the area clean and fresh, but avoid high-pressure water. Also, be very careful and gentle when washing your face.
Don’t apply makeup to the treated area. It could cause complications, infection and prolong the process.
Take note that if your eyebrow tattoo pigment contains iron or other metals, there is a high chance that they will appear darker with laser therapy due to oxidisation. This could be a concern to some but is, unfortunately, a common procedure.

Tattoo removal blisters are completely normal and a good sign that your body is getting rid of the unwanted tattoo ink. Resist the urge to scratch the blisters if they become itchy and try and prevent them from popping.

Blisters should scab naturally, and the scabs will fall off by themselves with time. Removing the scabs prematurely can cause scarring.

WHAT TO DO

After undergoing electrocautery treatment, it’s essential to take proper care of the treated area to promote healing, reduce the risk of infection, and ensure the best possible results. Electrocautery is a procedure that uses heat to remove or treat tissue, such as warts, skin tags, or small lesions.
Here are some general post-treatment care tips to follow:

KEEP THE AREA CLEAN:

Gently clean the treated area with mild soap and water. Pat the area dry with a clean towel or allow it to air dry. Avoid scrubbing or rubbing the area to prevent irritation.

APPLY AN ANTIBIOTIC OINTMENT (IF ADVISED):

If your practitioner recommends it, apply a thin layer of antibiotic ointment to the treated area(s) each morning and each night after washing the area(s). Do this for 5 days. This can help prevent infection and promote healing.

AVOID PICKING OR SCRATCHING

Do not pick at scabs or try to remove any crusting that forms on the treated area. Let the scabs or crusts fall off naturally to avoid scarring and infection. The crust usually fall off by day 7.

KEEP THE AREA COVERED (IF NECESSARY):

Depending on the location of the treated area and your Practitioner’s instructions, you may need to keep it covered with a sterile dressing or bandage. This can protect the area from potential contaminants.

AVOID DIRECT SUNLIGHT:

Minimize sun exposure to the treated area for at least a few days after the procedure. If you must go outside, protect the area with clothing, a bandage, or use a broad-spectrum sunscreen with SPF 30 or higher.

AVOID SWIMMING OR SOAKING THE AREA:

Refrain from swimming or soaking in water, such as baths, saunas, hot tubs, or pools, for a few days after the procedure to reduce the risk of infection.

USE MILD, NON-IRRITATING PRODUCTS:

Avoid using irritating skincare products (Retin-A, Retinol, Vitamin C, Glycolic acids etc), alcohol-based solutions, or exfoliants on the treated area(s) until healed completely.

TAKE PAIN RELIEF IF NECESSARY:

If you experience any discomfort after the procedure, consult your Practitioner for suitable pain relief options.

BE PATIENT:

Allow the treated area(s) to heal at its own pace. Healing time can vary depending on the extent of the electrocautery treatment and your body’s natural healing process. Remember that individual healing times may vary, and it’s essential to follow your Practitioner’s specific post-treatment care instructions for the best outcome.
