Leptospirosis is a bacterial disease contracted through the urine of infected animals entering the body through skin cuts, abrasions, or open wounds and through the mucous membranes.

The rainy season we are currently experiencing is associated with the increase in the number of leptospirosis cases. Being exposed to flood waters may carry the risk of contracting leptospirosis.

If you have been exposed, waded through flood, or accidentally ingested flood water and suspect that you may have been infected, consult your doctor immediately.

DOXYCYCLINE IS NOT AN OVER-THE-COUNTER (OTC) DRUG AND REQUIRES A PRESCRIPTION BEFORE INTAKE. AVOID SELF-MEDICATING AND BEWARE OF THE DO'S AND DON’T'S WHEN TAKING DOXYCYCLINE.
