Thankyousomuch sir❤️

A 20-year-old young man approached us last night while we were having iced coffee at a café in I.T. Park. He was carrying bottles of perfume and offering them for sale. With him was his 18-year-old friend, doing the same thing.
What impressed me wasn’t the perfume, it was their courage.
At such a young age, they were already doing something many adults struggle to do: approaching strangers, risking rejection, and earning an honest income. In fact, I bought a bottle from him even though I didn’t really need one. I admired the effort more than the product itself.
Over the years, I’ve met many people who wanted additional income but never took action because they were too worried about what others might think or too afraid of being rejected. I’ve seen the same thing in the insurance industry, people with potential who gave up not because they couldn’t sell, but because they couldn’t overcome their fear of hearing “no.”
Meanwhile, these young men kept going from table to table, determined to earn money and help fund their studies.
I’ll be keeping this bottle, not because of the fragrance, but because of what it represents. It will serve as a reminder of their courage, determination, and the lesson that I, too, should never be afraid of rejection when pursuing my goals.
To those two young men, thank you for the reminder. Your courage and determination were far more memorable than the perfume you were selling.
Sometimes, the difference between those who succeed and those who don’t isn’t talent or opportunity, it’s simply the willingness to hear “no” one more time.
