Nora Aunor is a Filipino screen legend, a talented singer with unprecedented record sales and a television host and actress. To date, she has appeared in almost 200 films, including the multi-award winning films Bona (1980), The Flor Contemplacion Story (1995) and Naglalayag (2009). In 1999, Aunor received the Centennial Honour for the Arts awarded by the Cultural Centre of the Philippines. Aunor was winner of the 2012 Asia Pacific Screen Award and Asian Film Award for Best Performance by an Actress for Brillante Ma. Mendoza’s Thy Womb (2012). The film Himala (1982) in which she starred, was awarded the CNN APSA Viewer’s Choice Award for Best Asia Pacific Film of all Time in 2008. In 2014 she has performed in five films: Dementia, Hustisya, Padre de Familia, Whistleblower and Brillante Ma. Mendoza’s Taklub.
