DRUG SUSPECT ARRESTED IN A BUY-BUST OPERATION AT BAROY, LANAO DEL NORTE

Camp Major Eduardo J Gallego, Tubod, Lanao del Norte – The intensified anti-illegal drug campaign of the Lanao del Norte Police Provincial Office (LDN PPO) yielded another success after law enforcement operatives arrested a drug suspect during a buy-bust operation conducted in Baroy, Lanao del Norte on the evening of October 31, 2025.

At around 8:15 PM, combined personnel from Baroy Municipal Police Station, 1005th Regional Mobile Force Battalion 10, Provincial Drug Enforcement Unit (PDEU) – LDN PPO, and PNP LDN Maritime Police Station, in coordination with PDEA under Pre-Operation No. 11-00-10312025-033, conducted a drug buy-bust operation at Purok 1, Brgy. Lower Sagadan, Baroy, Lanao del Norte.

The operation resulted in the arrest of one (1) drug suspect, known by the alias “Palot”, 31 years old, single, and a resident of the said barangay. The suspect was apprehended after he sold to a police officer acting as a poseur-buyer one (1) small heat-sealed transparent plastic sachet containing a white crystalline substance believed to be shabu, weighing approximately 0.1 gram, with an estimated Standard Drug Price (SDP) of ₱680.00.

During the operation, police recovered from the suspect’s possession the following items:
a. Five (5) pieces of small rectangular heat-sealed transparent plastic sachets containing white crystalline substance believed to be shabu;
b. One (1) piece small tub of Gatsby (purple/black); and
c. One (1) piece ₱500.00 bill used as buy-bust marked money, bearing serial number BM926253.

The total estimated weight of the purchased and confiscated suspected shabu is more or less two (2) grams, with an estimated SDP value of ₱13,600.00.

The search, seizure, physical inventory, and marking/tagging of the confiscated items were conducted in an orderly manner, duly witnessed by the arrested suspect and in the presence of a Barangay Kagawad of Brgy. Lower Sagadan and a media representative.

Appropriate charges for violation of Sections 5 and 11, Article II of Republic Act 9165 (Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002) are being prepared for filing in court against the arrested suspect, who is presently under the custody of Baroy MPS for documentation and further disposition. The confiscated items were turned over to the Lanao del Norte Provincial Forensic Unit (PFU) for quantitative and qualitative examination.

PCOL LEO DE LEON SUA, Acting Provincial Director of LDN PPO, commended the operatives for their successful operation and reiterated the LDN PPO’s unwavering commitment to sustain the momentum in the campaign against illegal drugs in the province.

“The LDN PPO will continue to work hand-in-hand with PDEA and other law enforcement units to ensure that those involved in illegal drug activities are brought to justice. We urge our communities to remain vigilant and continue supporting our anti-drug efforts,” he said. # # #
