🔷*Visit of The Director IPM in Bio Lab Jhang*🔷

*Objective*: The Director IPM along with The Deputy Director Agriculture Jhang visited Bio Lab Jhang on 12 July 2025. The objective of the visit was Lab visit, record verification and field visit of IPM plots. Following aspects were considered:

➡️ Inspection of stock registers related to production and distribution of Trichogramma chilonis and Chrysoperla carnea

➡️ Telephonic verification of beneficiary farmers of bio cards

➡️ Power Point presentation delivered by Agriculture Officer Bio Lab to explain the overall History, activities, production and distribution of Lab and media coverage of all activities

➡️ Visited various labs to verify rearing process of Chrysoperla carnea, Trichogramma chilonis and Sitotroga cerealella

➡️ Check the process of Production and distribution mechanism of Bio-cards. AO bio Lab explained about all processes and mechanisms of insect rearing

🔷 The Director IPM appreciated the work of Bio Lab with the remarks as “*Well done”.* Furthermore he advised to work passionately to further enhance the Bio control in district Jhang. Following directions were passed:
1- ProMotion of page
2- Farmer interview about IPM plots
3- Whatsap group of Progressive growers
4- Increase media coverage

🌾🌾 The Director further assured the smooth supply of Budget to promote bio control of insect pest.

*World Dengue Day 14.06.2025*
An awarness campaign regarding Dengue control was conducted in the office of the Deputy Director of Agriculture Extension Jhang. Following activities were performed.

1. Awarness seminar regarding control of Dengue.
2. Awarness walk regarding dengue control including officers,officials and public participants.
3. Fixation of water leaking spots, clearance of ac water buckets, cleaning of air coolers and clearance of water channels.
4. Awarness was given to the public regarding control of Dengue.

Training about “Biological Control of Parthenium in Pakistan” arranged by CABI Pakistan.

Attended international Farmer training Program arranged by Syngenta Pakistan to promote Integrated Pest Management in crops. Renowned scientists Sandy Baker & Pamela Gonzalez described the methods of insect pest and rust control in wheat. App was introduced to find the information about crop pest

Rearing of Beneficial insects in Bio Lab Jhang to control the Harmful insect pest of crops

Visit of cotton field by Agriculture Officer along with field staff. Checked the crop situation and advised the farmer to apply Bio spray instead of costly and harmful chemical spray to control insect pest of cotton.

Visit of The Director Agriculture and The Director IPM along with scientists from NARC in Bio Lab Jhang. Discussed about the Lab working. Appreciated the Bio control work at Bio Lab Jhang

Farmers Training Program and Exibition of Beneficial insects, organic food, organic vegetables and organic fertilisers. Program was arranged by Agriculture Officer Bio Lab Jhang Dr Saima Musaddaq, under the supervision of The DDA Agriculture Jhang. Director Agriculture, Director IPM Punjab, scientist from NARC, Assistant Commissioner Jhang, Political representative and farmers from all over the district attended the Program. The objective of the Exhibition and Lectures by renowned scientists was to promote Biological control of Insect pest of crops as an IPM approach.
