Yes, yes I did. Never thought it’d be such a struggle to head back. But the more I thought about leaving, the more I thought about all the things i love about 🇵🇰. The crazy bustling life here, my friends, family, and ofc the most important thing of all: malai paratha.

With all it’s flaws and shortcomings, it’s home. And always will be.

When I was coming back to khi for AKU, I told everyone adamantly: “main waapis aane k liye jaa rahi hoon” - I’m going back to 🇵🇰 j u s t to come back to 🇺🇸 . And now all I’m thinking is when I’ll head home.

Why is it that when something is slipping from us, that’s when we start valuing it the most?

Reflecting on this rollercoaster of a week: so grateful for the time I got to spend with my grandfather before he left us on Tuesday. Time spent with elders is indeed a blessing, and realizing their importance, their value is a blessing in itself.
