ذو الحجة) are among the most spiritually significant in Islam. Zul-Hijjah is the 12th month of the Islamic lunar calendar and contains the first 10 days, which are considered among the best days of the year, as well as the days of Hajj and Eid al-Adha.

Here are the key ibadat (worship practices) during Zul-Hijjah:

🌟 First 10 Days of Zul-Hijjah

Highly recommended acts of worship (for all Muslims, not just pilgrims):
1. Fasting (صيام):
• Fasting the first 9 days, especially the Day of Arafah (9th Zul-Hijjah), is highly recommended for non-pilgrims.
• Reward for fasting on Arafah: “It expiates the sins of the past year and the coming year.” – [Sahih Muslim]
2. Dhikr (remembrance of Allah):
• Increase in Takbeer, Tahleel, Tahmeed, and Tasbeeh:
• Takbeer: الله أكبر
• Tahleel: لا إله إلا الله
• Tahmeed: الحمد لله
• Tasbeeh: سبحان الله
3. Prayer (صلاة):
• Offer all obligatory prayers on time and increase in nafl (voluntary) prayers.
4. Charity (صدقة):
• Giving in charity is especially rewarding during these days.
5. Qur’an Recitation (قراءة القرآن):
• Reciting and reflecting on the Qur’an is encouraged.

🕋 For Pilgrims (Hujjaj):

Performing Hajj during Zul-Hijjah is a once-in-a-lifetime obligation (if able).

Main rituals of Hajj (Manasik):
1. 8th Zul-Hijjah (Yawm at-Tarwiyah):
• Enter state of Ihram, go to Mina, perform 5 daily prayers.
2. 9th Zul-Hijjah (Day of Arafah):
• Stand at Arafah (Wuquf), the most important part of Hajj.
• Then go to Muzdalifah, collect pebbles for stoning.
3. 10th Zul-Hijjah (Eid al-Adha):
• Stoning of Jamrah al-Aqabah, sacrifice of an animal (Qurbani), shaving the head (or trimming), and Tawaf al-Ifadah.
4. 11th–13th Zul-Hijjah (Tashreeq Days):
• Stoning the three Jamarat each day.
• Staying in Mina and continued worship.

🐑 Qurbani (Udhiyah):
• Performed from 10th to 13th Zul-Hijjah by those not on Hajj.
• Sacrifice of sheep, goat, cow, or camel to commemorate Prophet Ibrahim’s (AS) devotion.
• Distribute meat to family, friends, and the needy.
