Mole (nevus) is a benign growth of melanocytes ( cells in skin, which give skin it’s colour ) when they grow in a cluster.Moles can appear any where on skin of the body. Abnormal moles can rarely become cancerous .
1,when to get a mole removed?
Answer:a,if the mole grows in size( more than 4 mm).
b,If the mole becomes uneven in colour.
c,There is itching.
d,Irregular edges.
e,there is redness around the mole.
2,Who to go for treatment?
Better to get it checked at that time by a Plastic surgeon.
3,Treatment; Moles should be removed using local anesthesia .this can be done in an office setting.And specimen sent for histopathology to make sure it is benign; where no further treatment is necessary.
4, prevention; avoid direct sunlight.use sunblock to prevent the harmful effects of sunlight.
