Tesla once promised the Cybertruck would change everything. 🚛 Elon Musk boldly claimed Tesla could sell 250,000 Cybertrucks every year. But right now more than 10,000 unsold Cybertrucks are sitting at dealerships across the United States with a combined value of around $800 million. In the first quarter of 2025 Tesla sold only about 6,400 units according to data from Cox Automotive. That is just a fraction of what was promised and experts say the gap between hype and reality has never been this wide.

Analysts point to several reasons behind the crisis including the truck's polarising design, inconsistent build quality, and multiple recalls. Tesla tried cutting the price by $10,000 and even launched a cheaper rear-wheel-drive model at $69,990 in April but sales barely moved. Behind the scenes Tesla has quietly shifted workers away from Cybertruck production back to the Model Y line. 📉 The vehicle once called the future of electric trucks is now being called the company's biggest misstep in years. When a billion-dollar bet stops making sense even to the people who made it, that says everything.
