Provincial Nutrition Cell at DGHS organised a One day Provincial Consultative Workshop on Adaptation of the New WHO Guidelines for the prevention and Management of Wasting and Nutrition Edema.
On behalf of Director General Health Services, Director Nutrition Dr Fazal Majeed Chaired the workshop. Representatives from Ministry of Health, Islamabad, UNICEF Consultants, Department of Health, SUN Unit P&DD, KMU, KTH, HMC, LRH, INP, BNP, UNICEF, WHO and WFP attended the workshop. The recommendations will be shared with the Department of Health and Ministry of Health Islamabad.

The Directorate General of Health Services Khyber Pakhtunkhwa hosted a one-day workshop on the platform of DHIS-2 with the support of Unicef on "Strengthening Quality of Care for Small and Sick Newborns through Improved Newborn Data Systems".

Attendees included DGHS KP Dr. Muhammad Saleem Khan, Director DHIS-2 Dr. Saleem Khan, Director MCH Dr. Khizar Hayat
UNICEF Team Lead KP Dr. Inamullah Khan
UNICEF Health Specialist Pakistan Dr. Saima Rizwan, Paediatricians, Neonatologists, obstetricians, and representatives from DHIS Provincial Cell and LHWs program.

On this occasion, DGHS Dr. Muhammad Saleem emphasized the importance of newborn quality data on standard tools.
He appreciated UNICEF's support for strengthening health information systems and transitioning to DHIS2.

UNICEF Health Team Lead Dr. Inamullah Khan noted Pakistan's stagnant neonatal mortality rate and the need for standardized data systems.
He expressed optimism that the standardized newborn data system will improve data quality and newborn care.
