From the US to the hills of Sintra, Olivia & Jon’s wedding celebrations began in the soft light of a late afternoon at Penha Longa.

Their closest people had crossed an ocean to be there. And before the wedding day itself, there was this: the first embraces, long conversations, glasses raised, laughter carrying through the old stone walls, and the simple joy of finally being together.

These are the gatherings we love so much.

Because a wedding is never only the ceremony, or the portraits, or one single day.

It is also everything that happens around it: the people arriving, families reconnecting, friends meeting, stories being shared, and that quiet anticipation before everything begins.

And in Sintra, with that late afternoon light falling over the hills and everyone finally in the same place, there was nothing more needed.

We’ve been photographing weddings together for a long time, and somewhere along the way we realised that the photographs we care about most are rarely just about photography.

They’re about attention.
About the people, the gestures, the pauses, and everything happening around the moments everyone expects.

Knowing when to guide, when to wait, when to step back and when something small is actually the thing that will matter later.

Beautiful photographs matter to us.

But the people in them matter more.

That’s probably the simplest way to explain how we see weddings.

Some places don’t need much introduction.

Maybe the chicest thing you can do on your wedding day is actually be in it.

Laugh too much.

Alessia and Diogo’s wedding felt like a fairytale told in two languages: Portuguese and Italian.

We always say that a little part of our hearts belongs to Italy. We love the country, the language, the food, the landscapes… and especially the people. Alessia was everything we love about Italians. She has the kindest heart, and from our very first conversation, she made us feel so welcome. It was impossible not to adore her.

And then there’s Diogo, always smiling, always happy. Together, they started this new chapter with the beautiful certainty of having found the person who feels like home.

It was such a joy to be part of this day and to document so many beautiful moments for them. We are truly grateful for the trust they placed in us.
