Come back to your body with me🤍

Try this simple reflexology practice in the evening, especially when your body is tired but your mind is still busy.

Gently work along the diaphragm line and the solar plexus reflex, using slow, comfortable pressure.

The diaphragm line runs just below the ball of your foot — you can often recognise it as the place where the texture of the skin begins to change.

The solar plexus reflex is located around the centre of this line, just below the ball of the foot.

Breathe deeply, allowing your exhale to be a little longer than your inhale.
About 2 minutes on each foot.

Just slow down, feel your feet, breathe — and notice what changes.

Save this practice for a night when your mind needs a little help slowing down🙏

You say you want peace.

But then a quiet weekend comes and you suddenly need to do something.

A relationship becomes stable and you wonder if something is missing.

Nobody needs you for a moment and instead of relief, you feel strangely empty.

There is no problem to solve.
No crisis.
No mood to monitor.
No one to rescue.

And somehow, you don't know what to do with yourself.

If love once came with unpredictability, calm love can feel strangely flat.

If your value was built around being needed, having nobody to rescue can feel like losing your place.

If you spent years anticipating other people's moods, silence can leave you waiting for the next signal.

If rest only came after exhaustion, doing nothing can feel more like guilt than freedom.

This is one of the strange parts of leaving survival mode:

the absence of stress doesn't automatically feel like safety.

There is a space in between.

The old intensity is gone.
But peace doesn't feel like home yet.

So you fill the silence.
Create another task.
Find something to worry about.
Choose another person who keeps you guessing.
Take responsibility for something that was never yours to carry.

Learning peace begins with resisting the urge to fill that space.

Letting a quiet day remain quiet.

Resting before your body forces you to.

Letting someone love you without earning it.

Allowing life to be good without immediately searching for what might go wrong.

At first, peace may not feel peaceful.

It may simply feel unfamiliar.

Stay long enough.

Your body can learn a new home.

Healing the inner child isn't one conversation with the little girl you once were.

It's a relationship you build with her.

Ten times a day. A hundred times, if that's what it takes.

Every time rejection wakes up the old fear, you come back.

Every time guilt tells you to abandon your boundary, you come back.

Every time you want to chase, please, explain, disappear or make yourself smaller just to keep someone's love, you come back.

And each time, the adult in you gets to say:

I'm here.
I won't leave you.
You don't have to earn love anymore.
You don't have to betray yourself to keep someone close.
Let me take care of this now.

This is how the adult within us is built.

Not through one breakthrough, one meditation or finally understanding our childhood perfectly.

Through showing up for ourselves again and again until staying with ourselves becomes more familiar than abandoning ourselves.

We all become adults by age.

Becoming the steady, loving, responsible adult in our own inner world is a different kind of growing up.

And that is a practice.

Every single day.

A lot of human behaviour happens automatically.
We repeat habits, make rapid interpretations, anticipate reactions and respond emotionally before conscious thought has had time to fully analyse what is happening.

And many of those patterns begin early.
In childhood, especially in the first years of life, the brain is extraordinarily plastic. We are learning not only language and behaviour, but also the emotional rules of our environment.

Is it safe to disagree?
What happens when someone is angry with me?
Are my needs welcome?
What happens when I disappoint someone?

A child cannot step outside the family system and analyse it objectively.

You do not think:
“My mother is anxious because of her own history.”
You experience her anxiety as information about the world.

You do not think:
“My father struggles with emotional closeness.”
You may simply learn that closeness is uncertain.

You do not think:
“My parents are repeating beliefs they inherited.”
You absorb those beliefs as normal.

This is how an external environment gradually becomes an internal one.

And once something has been repeated often enough, it no longer needs to feel like a belief.
It becomes familiar.
Automatic.
Obvious.
Eventually, it may feel like:
“This is just who I am.”

And that is what makes subconscious patterns so powerful.
They influence what you notice, how you interpret, what you avoid, what you tolerate and how you react — before your conscious mind has had time to ask:
Do I actually agree with this?

This is the strange part:
you can live from a pattern for years and never experience it as a pattern.
You experience it as you.
And awareness begins when you can finally see the difference.

Don't let its simplicity fool you.
The Letting Go Technique, described by Dr. David R. Hawkins, is incredibly simple.

So simple that your mind may dismiss it.
"This can't be enough."

But its power doesn't come from complexity.
It comes from practice.

Every feeling you experience is also a sensation in the body.
Fear.
Anger.
Frustration.
Shame.
Sadness.

The mind immediately creates a story around it.
The body simply asks you to feel it.
Instead of suppressing it, expressing it, or analysing it...
pause.
Notice where you feel it.
Stay with it.
Keep breathing.

This isn't a technique you use once and forget.
Come back to it every time you notice discomfort.
Every time your mind starts creating stories.
Every time you catch yourself resisting what you feel.

Over time, you may notice something beautiful.
Not only do the feelings begin to move more freely...
You do too🤍

Psychiatrist David R. Hawkins described four ways we tend to avoid difficult feelings: suppression, repression, projection and escape.

What struck me most wasn't the theory itself.
It was realizing how easily these patterns become invisible.

They stop feeling like something we do.
They start feeling like who we are.
Being the one who is always strong.
Always busy.
Always positive.
Always irritated by everyone else.
Always saying, "I'm fine."
After years of repeating them, we rarely recognize them as strategies anymore.

We call them personality.
We call them habits.
We call them "just the way I am."

Perhaps that's why so many emotions seem to stay with us for years.
They are still waiting.
Not to be explained.
Simply to be felt.

I'm curious...
Which slide made you stop and think, "That's me"?

Psychiatrist David R. Hawkins, in his book Letting Go: The Pathway of Surrender, proposed a perspective that turns the way many of us think about the mind upside down.

We usually believe that first comes a thought, and then a feeling.
Hawkins suggested that, very often, it happens the other way around.

First, there is a feeling.
Only then does the mind begin trying to understand it. To make sense of it. To tell a story about it.

If fear is underneath, the mind creates thoughts about danger.
If shame is underneath, it begins searching for evidence that we are not enough.
This doesn't mean that every thought comes from a feeling, or that we can't influence the way we think.
But it invites a different question.

What if the thought isn't the problem?
What if it's the feeling we've never truly allowed ourselves to feel?

This perspective has deeply influenced the way I look at bodywork.
Because when the body begins to feel safe, it's not only our emotions that can change.
Sometimes, our thoughts change too.
