Botanical Creations Dill Field is a one-person home-based operation. After the process, the soap has to cure for at least a month.
I craft soap in small batches using naturally derived and plant-based ingredients by an old traditional cold process method: lye saponifies vegetable oil forming natural soap. However, similar to w**e, the longer the soap cures, the better it gets. I personally prefer cosmetics with all natural ingredients only and use essential oils, herbs, clays, herb decoctions, juices, herb infusions, fruit pu
ree and spices to enhance soap properties and achieve vibrant, earthy shades and fragrances. Most of the herbs and essential oils are known to treat some skin conditions and improve emotional state of mind. For instance, in ayurvedic medicine, neem oil is considered as a powerful remedy for acne, psoriasis, eczema and even skin parasites; calendula soothes, relieves itching and heals irritated skin; lavender essential oil calms and promotes better sleeping. The process of soap crafting is magic for me. It's been 3 years since I started to craft natural cosmetics; however, sometimes I still cannot predict how the colour or the blend of essential oils will turn out. Lye may change the colours completely, but I am always happy with the natural look and aroma the soap gets. Each soap is a special story and a child for me. I hope you will enjoy it as much as I do!
