Reflections from my weekend at the Borealis psychedelic science summit:

- psychedelics have transdiagnostic efficacy, which means that although we tend to use different diagnoses to characterise mental health/ disease, anything that can be helped by psychotherapy can be helped by psychedelics ( when done within a safe, legal and pluridisciplinary setting).

- This field is still pretty new but it is constantly growing as new evidence emerges and new clinical trials are conducted. It's an exciting time to be here and to connect to so many people involved in this work!

- We need more women specific research. How does the menstrual cycle/ menopause affect treatment response? We need more data on this and therefore more funding for this type of research, therefore more women researchers, and more collaboration and support for women in this field.

- I noticed that nurses were underrepresented at the conference, which is very unfortunate, as I believe that nurses will be central to the deployment of these therapies at a population scale. Our skill set blends clinical skills, communication skills, empathy, and high awareness of the ethics of caring. This puts us in a great position to provide psychedelic assisted therapy while being part of a multidisciplinary team. The system and the patients will need us and I'm here for it 🙏❤️🍄✨️

And lastly, the after party was just as fun as the conference ❤️🕺🎉 I feel grateful for it all 🙏❤️✨️

Livet på neo. This summer, I'm working as a nursing assistant at the NICU/ neonatal unit, where I care for sick and premature babies. In some ways, it feels like an extension of my doula work, but in some others, it's completely different. It's only been a few days, and the learning curve is steep. As per usual 😅.

May this year bring me acceptance.
May this be the year that I stop chasing the "best version of myself" and start appreciating myself just I am.
May this be the year that I spend less time on social media and more time in silence, in meditation, in prayer.
May I count my blessings more than I count all the things that I have yet to achieve.
May my children feel the love I have for them.
May my marriage blossom and my friendships deepen.
May we collectively realise how powerful we are.
May all beings everywhere be happy and free.

As times goes by, my life changes and so does my business. Sometimes we hold on to titles, identities, relationships, out of loyalty to who we used to be.

Today I feel like I've outlived some of these previous versions of myself and my new website reflects this shift towards letting go.

I am a doula and I know it's enough. No need to offer every service to solve every problem. No need to use all of my skills to feel like my contribution is meaningful.

This is a return so simplicity and it feels great to be just that: a doula.

One year ago ❤️

Snapshots from mom and baby yoga time, a course that I absolutely loved teaching and beyond. Creating community and promoting healing for new mothers is very close to my heart, and this course allowed me to do both. To lead and to witness, to guide and to listen. To remember that we need community to thrive.
So much has happened since last summer, and due to studying nursing full time, I've had to pause all my classes, but I really miss them and I hope I'll be back soon, one way or one another!

My spin on the rebozo is to combine it with a hot stone massage for added nurturing and healing. The rebozo ritual, which involves gentle wrapping and rocking motions using a traditional Mexican shawl, promotes relaxation and emotional release, aiding in the recovery process after birth. When paired with a hot stone massage, the therapeutic heat from the stones penetrates deeply into the muscles, improving blood circulation and alleviating muscle stiffness. This combination creates a holistic experience that balances physical relief with emotional and mental well-being, offering a comprehensive approach to healing and rejuvenation.

Osteopathy uses gentle techniques to stretch, mobilise and rebalance joints, muscles bones, organs, and the nervous system. Osteopathy is useful at any stage of life and treats the whole person, not just the symptom.
