A flexible cannula is safer than a stiff one, even though both are blunt.
The evidence is still limited, but the smaller studies we have point in the same direction. A rigid cannula meeting an artery has a harder time changing direction.

If you only fill the mid-cheek groove, you are treating a third of the problem. Release it first, support it on bone, then work on the skin.
