OUR STORY
In a crowded spa industry, Raison d’Etre stands alone, providing unique continuity as creator, owner and manager of luxury spas for prestigious hotel clients around the world. Raison d’Etre has traditionally maintained a discreet profile, being deliberately selective regarding where the brand is promoted. The company is based in Sweden. Since its foundation in 1998 we have consulted to,

set up and run over 100 spas in more than 60 countries. Our work includes the creation of spas and spa brands for some of the world’s leading hotel groups – Four Seasons, Aman Resorts, Capella and Kempinski Hotels are among them – and exquisite individual such as Six Senses now known as Soneva Fushi in the Maldives. Raison d’Etre utilises its flexibility and business acumen to blend our aspiration for spas with our clients’ needs and desires. We are open to exciting business partnerships and have recently established a joint venture with Kempinski Hotels to own and operate their new spa brand, Resense and Kempinski The Spa as an independent separate entity. We have also launched our first LivNordic Spa, by Raison d’Etre at The Grand Hôtel in Stockholm, Sweden. This hotel was considered a fitting tribute to re-launch our name into the consumer market as it is truly the most luxurious and genuinely historic hotel in Scandinavia; and Sweden is the location of our head office and home to many of our team. The Grand Hotel LivNordicSpa at is a joint venture that has allowed us the ability to influence the spa’s direction so that it exemplifies our reasons for creating truly unique, unsurpassed spa experiences. We consider this just the beginning and this is the first of many LivNordic spas in planning to be launched around the world. Raison d’Etre spas will all embody our principle of tailor-making unique spas combined with a dash of Nordic spa influence depending upon what the destination demands. Spas are our passion, and Raison d’Etre is what we live for. Though our work has taught us a great deal about luxury, relaxation and indulgence; what finally sets us apart from the rest of the industry is our profound belief in the physical, mental and spiritual benefits that a spa can provide. We want to uplift people and give them back their energy and balance. Raison d’Etre is the real thing. It is that authenticity that makes our spas such precious assets for our clients.
