Fun fact: Pete used to be a chef but was a bit bored with the brooths and sh*t… So when he heard that Honest Als was looking for an apprentice, he tossed away his wooden spoon and change it for a pair of clippers…Voila!
That was about 6 years ago…

Something is cooking between these two..
Slow cooking yes, but aren’t those slow cooking pots the most delicious ones?
Al and Tom aka The Beauty and The Beast are relentlessly working to put Honestals even more on the map!
So, to make this happen, Al need to groom the Beast so that he can perform to the best!

Meet Leila ”Princess Leila ”.. In her own words:
Argentinian Prodigy. Cinephile at heart went to Economics University against her will graduating as an Accountant in 2019. After watching too many Ingmar Bergman movies she decided to escape to Sweden looking for new adventures.
In 2022 started an apprenticeship at honest Al's barbershop and became the best apprentice the shop has ever had.
Now a proud Junior Barber.

Another sunny Friday!
I will chop some wood, cook some food on my cast iron wooden stove.
What will you do?

Today marks the 14th anniversary of the shop..
It all started on September first 2008.
Locals Only opened its doors for the first time. I already had a vision of the first new era barbershop in Stockholm.. But I had worked 17 years and had a client base of 70% women and 30% men..
I built the shop as my man cave so that it would attract the punk/skate movement but I was still forced to do women’s hair in order to survive..
It took a couple of years to built a heavier man’s base and by mid 2010 I decided to take the leap!
It took me a month to reach out to all female customers and “break up” with them..
I remember saying stuff like” it’s not you, it’s me”🤣
A good friend of mine though I was crazy to turn down what was then about 60% av my client base..
I did prove him wrong and it was the best decision of my life.
It has been a lot of up and downs, but mostly ups..
The problem was that they were virtually no barbers out there so I started old school.. One apprentice at the time.. Some stayed, some went..
I am proud and happy about all we achieved and I can’t wait to see what the near future holds in our next venture..
