✨ Can looking at beautiful art actually make you feel better?

It might sound too simple, but science suggests it can.

When we think about supporting our wellbeing, we often focus on nutrition, exercise and sleep. Yet our brains also respond to beauty. Just a few quiet moments spent looking at inspiring artwork may help shift our mood in a surprisingly positive way.

Researchers recently found that viewing art online for only a few minutes reduced feelings of anxiety and improved mood. Even through a computer screen, participants reported feeling calmer, happier and more emotionally engaged after exploring beautiful paintings.

Why does this happen?

Our brains are naturally drawn to colour, balance, light and patterns. Looking at art can gently interrupt racing thoughts and encourage us to be present in the moment. It activates areas of the brain linked to emotion, reward, creativity and reflection. Some researchers even believe that experiencing beauty can lower stress levels by helping calm the nervous system.

The wonderful part is that you don’t have to visit a famous museum to enjoy these benefits.

🎨 Browse artwork online.
🖼️ Hang paintings or photographs that make you smile.
🌸 Admire flowers in your garden.
🌅 Watch a beautiful sunset.
🍃 Appreciate the colours and textures found in nature.

Beauty comes in many forms.

Just as nourishing your body with wholesome food and caring for your skin with natural ingredients supports your health, nourishing your mind with uplifting experiences matters too. Small daily moments of beauty can become simple acts of self-care.

Your wellbeing isn’t built by one big habit. It’s created through hundreds of little choices that help you feel calmer, happier and more connected each day.

At True Organic of Sweden, we believe caring for yourself goes beyond skincare. Healthy skin reflects a healthy lifestyle, and that includes reducing stress, embracing nature and finding joy in the simple things around us.

So today, take five minutes to look at something beautiful.

Did you know that one of the best beauty treatments for your skin might be on your plate, not in your skincare cabinet? 🍊🥝

Research has shown that increasing your intake of vitamin C can support healthier, stronger and more radiant skin from within.

In one study, participants who ate two kiwifruit a day for just two months showed:
✨ Increased collagen production
✨ Thicker, healthier skin
✨ Faster skin renewal

Vitamin C reaches every layer of the skin through the bloodstream, where your skin cells absorb it efficiently. While topical vitamin C serums certainly have their place, nourishing your skin from the inside is just as important.

Fill your plate with vitamin C-rich foods like:
🥝 Kiwi
🍓 Berries
🍊 Citrus fruits
🫑 Bell peppers
🥦 Broccoli

If you don’t always get enough from your diet, a quality vitamin C supplement can also be a simple way to help support healthy collagen production and glowing skin.

At True Organic of Sweden, we believe beautiful skin starts with a holistic approach. What you put in your body is just as important as what you put on it. 🌿

Fish oil, omega-3s, and hormonal wellbeing 🐟

Some encouraging research came out recently on omega-3s and women’s health.

A UK study of over 3,500 women found a link between regular fish oil intake and healthier hormonal patterns through midlife. Vitamin B-complex and antioxidants showed promise too.

The theory? Omega-3s (EPA + DHA) may support the body by:
🌿 Supporting ovarian function
🌿 Calming everyday inflammation
🌿 Protecting cells from oxidative stress
🌿 Supporting heart and brain health

This was an observational study, so it’s not proof of cause and effect — women who take supplements often have other healthy habits too, like good food, movement, and sleep.

But it’s a nice reminder: there’s no single magic fix. It’s the everyday choices — nourishing food, oily fish, staying active, managing stress, sleeping well — that support how we feel, at every stage of life. 💛

It’s this time of year that I really appreciate All You Need Is Me.

When I’m out in the garden all day, my hands always seem to end up with little cuts, scratches and rough patches. Even when I wear gloves. There’s always that one w**d to pull, branch to move or flower to deadhead after I’ve already taken them off.

“I’m just going to…”

Sound familiar?

Before bed, I massage a small amount of All You Need Is Me into my hands and anywhere else that needs a little extra care. Overnight is when our skin naturally shifts into repair mode, so it’s the perfect time to support the skin barrier with nourishing ingredients.

What I love about this balm is that it’s not built around one “hero” ingredient. It’s the combination that makes the difference.

Organic castor oil helps soften the skin and is known for its ability to pe*****te deeply. Beeswax forms a breathable protective layer that helps reduce moisture loss. Organic olive oil and shea butter provide essential fatty acids that nourish dry, hardworking skin, while vitamin E acts as an antioxidant to help protect the skin from environmental stress.

Then there’s blueberry seed oil, one of my favourite ingredients. Despite being used in a small amount, it’s naturally rich in antioxidants and essential fatty acids that help support healthy-looking skin. Rosemary extract is added to help protect the natural oils in the balm from oxidation while also contributing its own antioxidant properties.

After a long day in the garden, that’s exactly what my hands need. Simple, effective care that lets my skin recover while I sleep.

What has your skin been through this summer?

Good news for cheese lovers like me 😊
and maybe for our brains too.

For years, dietary fat was something many people tried to avoid. Today, nutrition science is painting a more nuanced picture. Healthy fats play an important role in the body, including supporting the brain, hormones and the absorption of fat-soluble vitamins.

Now we’re learning that the story is a little more complicated.

A large Swedish study that followed more than 27,000 people for 25 years found that those who regularly ate full-fat cheese had a lower risk of developing dementia, especially vascular dementia. People who chose full-fat dairy over low-fat dairy generally seemed to do better when it came to brain health.

Does this mean cheese is a miracle food? No. It doesn’t prove that cheese prevents dementia. But it does remind us that whole foods deserve a place on our plate, and that healthy fats are essential for our brain, our hormones and our cells.

I’ve always believed that wellness isn’t about fearing food. It’s about eating real, nourishing ingredients, moving your body, sleeping well, spending time in nature and trying to stress a little less.

Hello Camembert, here I come 😉

Everyone talks about skincare routines, but sleep might be the most underrated beauty treatment of all.

While you sleep, your skin switches into repair mode. Blood flow to the skin increases, collagen production is supported, and your skin barrier works to recover from everything it has dealt with during the day, from UV exposure and pollution to dry air and stress. It’s one of the reasons why people who consistently get enough quality sleep often have stronger skin barrier function and fewer visible signs of premature skin ageing.

On the other hand, too many late nights can leave skin looking dull, dehydrated and more reactive. Stress hormones also stay higher when we’re sleep deprived, which isn’t doing our skin any favours.

If you’re struggling to switch off, it may be worth looking at your evening routine. Some nutrients and herbs that have been associated with better sleep include magnesium, L-theanine, saffron, passionflower, lemon balm, tart cherry, lavender, hawthorn and ziziphus. If your vitamin D levels are low, correcting that may also support healthy sleep.

One of my favourite bedtime rituals has nothing to do with screens or supplements. I love applying a generous layer of All You Need Is Me as an overnight mask. It feels incredibly soothing after a long day, almost like a comforting hug for my skin. By morning it feels plump, deeply nourished and has that fresh, healthy glow that comes from giving it time to recover.

It’s July, which means many of us finally get the chance to spend more time outdoors, preferably barefoot.

Walking barefoot on natural surfaces, often called grounding or earthing, has become increasingly popular in recent years. Some people do it because they find it relaxing, while others are interested in research suggesting it may help support sleep, stress management, and overall wellbeing. The science is still developing, but spending time in nature is something most experts agree is good for both physical and mental health.

What we do know is that walking barefoot activates muscles in the feet that are often underused in modern shoes. It can help improve balance, foot strength, and body awareness.

Where you walk can make a difference too.

If you’re near a beach, try walking on the sand rather than the promenade. Sand creates an unstable surface, so your muscles have to work harder with every step. It can increase the effort required for walking and engage more of the legs and core.

Away from the coast, grass, forest paths, soil, and other uneven natural surfaces provide similar benefits. They challenge your balance and encourage small stabilising muscles throughout the body to work a little harder.

For your skin, there may be benefits as well. Time outdoors often means fresh air, movement, and a break from everyday stress. Since stress can affect skin health, reducing it is never a bad thing.

Sometimes wellbeing doesn’t have to be complicated. A short walk outdoors, a patch of grass, and a few minutes without shoes can be a good place to start.

Skincare can feel complicated these days. Ten-step routines, dozens of active ingredients, and shelves full of products promising miracles.

The reality is that healthy skin doesn’t necessarily need more products. Consistency often matters more than complexity.

A simple routine built around cleansing, nourishing, and protecting the skin barrier can be enough for many people.

🌿 Cleanse and refresh

A mask containing chlorella algae can help remove impurities from the skin’s surface while providing amino acids, vitamins, and minerals naturally found in algae. Used a few times a week, it can leave skin feeling cleaner and looking brighter.

🌿 Nourish

Facial oils rich in ingredients such as chia seed, rosehip, safflower, and sunflower oils help support the skin barrier and reduce moisture loss. Applying oils to slightly damp skin can help lock in hydration.

🌿 Protect

A balm made with ingredients like castor oil, shea butter, beeswax, blueberry seed oil, and vitamin E can help protect dry areas and support the skin’s natural barrier. Multi-purpose balms are often useful for lips, cuticles, hands, elbows, and other areas that need extra care.

The goal isn’t perfect skin. Skin changes with age, seasons, stress, hormones, and lifestyle.

Sometimes the most effective routine is simply one that’s easy enough to stick with.

When choosing skincare, ingredient quality matters. Many people choose products made with certified organic ingredients because the plants are grown without synthetic pesticides and fertilisers. Cold-pressed and minimally processed plant oils can also help preserve the naturally occurring compounds found in the raw ingredients.

Did you know that in some regions, bee populations have started to recover following restrictions on certain pesticides?

It’s encouraging news. Not just for bees, but as a reminder that what we put into the environment matters.

Nature is complex, and bee health depends on many factors, from habitat loss to climate change. But the recovery seen in some areas suggests that reducing harmful chemicals can have a positive impact.

It also raises an interesting question.

If reducing chemical exposure can help ecosystems recover, what does that say about the products we use on our skin every day?

Choosing organic ingredients isn’t only about skincare. It’s also about supporting farming methods that generally rely less on synthetic pesticides and work more closely with natural ecosystems.

At True Organic of Sweden, we’ve always believed that ingredients matter. That’s why we use as high levels of organic ingredients as possible and carefully select every ingredient that goes into our products.

No single choice changes the world overnight.

But small choices, repeated millions of times, can make a difference. Just ask the bees. 🐝🌿

😴 Struggling to fall asleep?

Sometimes the best sleep tips are the simplest ones. Many of the remedies our grandparents used are still popular today, and some are even backed by research.

Here are a few to try:

• Take a warm bath or a warm foot bath before bed.

• Add a few drops of lavender oil to your pillow or bedroom. Lavender has long been associated with relaxation and stress relief.

• Enjoy a bowl of oatmeal, a banana, or a glass of milk in the evening.

• Try the 4-7-8 breathing technique:
Breathe in for 4 seconds,
hold for 7 seconds,
breathe out for 8 seconds.
Repeat a few times.

• Count backwards from 100. To make it even more effective, keep your eyes closed and slowly look up, sideways, down and sideways while counting. It gives your mind something simple to focus on instead of tomorrow’s worries.

• Keep a notebook beside your bed and write down anything that’s on your mind.

• Enjoy a cup of chamomile or any sleepy time tea in the evening.

Sleep isn’t usually about one miracle solution. Often it’s the small habits we repeat every night that help us unwind. Melatonin is also a natural remedy.

And speaking of lavender…

One of our Undercover Agent deodorant scents contains lavender. Don’t worry, it probably won’t make you fall asleep during an important meeting 😄 but lavender is well known for its calming and de-stressing aroma, which may help create a greater sense of calm throughout the day.

Do you have a bedtime ritual that helps you sleep?
