Meet Yana — the reason aufguss exists at the ice bath club.
Singapore’s first ever aufguss session happened because she asked Andrew “can we do this?” and he said “no idea what it is, but go for it.”
She grew up in Northern Europe, where sauna isn’t a wellness trend, it’s just life. Moving to Singapore, she missed it enough to bring it here herself. A year later, she’s trained with Japan’s aufguss champions and built one of the most loved rituals at the club — heat, aroma, movement, music, and a room full of strangers sweating together like old friends.
Her take on it: “our social identity stops existing in there. we’re just a bunch of people in bathing suits, getting stronger together.”
