Healthcare wastes are potential reservoirs for harmful. Microorganisms and require appropriate handling.
All waste disposal must meet local regulations.
(1)They must organize a selective collection of wastes
General wasted must be disposed in domestic refuse
(3)sharps should be collected at the source of use in puncture proof container and should be burned in sharp s incinerators and dumped in sharp pits.
(4)Bags and other containers for infectious wastes must be marked according to international standards.
(5)Infectious Health care wastes should be stored in a secure place with restricted access.
(6)Microbiological wastes should be sterilized by auticlavu g.
(7)Cytotoxic wastesmust be stored in leakproof containers..
(8)Chemicals or pharmaceutical wastes may be collected together with infectious wastes
(9)Obsolete or expired pharmaceutical products must be returned to the pharmacy for disposal.
(10)Wastes with heavy chemicals like cadmium or Mercury should be collected and disposed of safely.
(11)Pressurised containers may be collected with general Healthcare wastes.
(12)X-ray or radioactive materials may be collected in yellow bags and destined for incineration.
(13)Healthcare workers, Hospital personnel should be informed about hazrads related to Healthcare wastes.

Food poisoning can be avoided by basic principles of food care.

ANTIBIOTIC CONTROL POLICY
(1)Form an Antimicrobial use committee
(2)Laboratory to do susceptibility testing.
(3)Lab oratory to monitor and report trends in prevalence of microorganisms resistance to Antibiotics..
(3)A strong monitoring committee on Snti microbial use performed by the pharmacy department.
(4)Department of Community Health through the Directorate Community Health and Community Health Divisions will monitor drug utilization and access at Facility and community Level.
