message from Gatkor Kuoch Ruea to Fangak Community Leadership
Fangak Studio Media shares an important message and recommendations from Gatkor Kuoch Ruea, based on community voices, NGO workers, and peace forums across Fangak County.
Key Recommendations for Strong Leadership
✓Build Organized and Inclusive Structures
Strong leadership is the foundation of development. As many community members have emphasized, “nothing can be achieved without leadership.”
Establish clear leadership structures at Payam and Boma levels
Elect representatives including chairpersons, women, and youth leaders
Ensure inclusion of women, youth, persons with disabilities, and all clans
Promote participation of both rural and urban communities, as well as religious leaders
✓Promote Transparency and Accountability
Hold regular public meetings
Clearly define community objectives
Provide updates and reports on progress
✓Prioritize Peace and Security Coordination
Fangak has faced challenges such as inter-clan conflict, cattle raiding, and abductions.
Strengthen collaboration in community safety and crime prevention
Encourage neutral mediation and dialogue
Leaders must listen to all sides and prioritize the well-being of the people, especially women and children
✓Strengthen Leadership Capacity
Effective leaders should demonstrate:
Experience in humanitarian and high-risk environments
Strong negotiation and networking skills with government, NGOs, UN, and partners
Ability in project planning, budgeting, and risk management
Good interpersonal and multicultural communication skills
Bottom Line from Fangak Leaders
Fangak community will gain respect globally when it takes meaningful action that improves the lives of its people. The path forward is clear:
Organize-Include everyone-Prevent violence – Build resilience-deliver services to those in need.
