After the leadership of Mama Nunu Kumba, Mama Awut Deng Achuil, Mama Nyadeng de Mabor, et al., our next generation won't have women leaders due to a problem that we, the young upcoming women, don't see. We have created a lifestyle that has defined us as useless people, "slay queens," etc.
The majority of us have left our cultures and adopted Western cultures that have affected our dignity in the eyes of our countrymen. We are being disrespected today, and it's our own doing.
We have created a war between us that has ruined the image of us, the young South Sudanese women, a war that is not helping the country nor us. We have ruined ourselves by exposing our privacy, by insulting ourselves with painful truths, by giving ourselves to our own men to gain our needs, and by letting men take us out of our cultures.
Our men no longer approach us but just call us to a hotel. We are busy fighting ourselves over young boys who don't even have a future, paying them to love us, while the ones who are responsible are using us to get what they want.
Why can't we leave all this and get back to our cultures and regain our dignity and the respect we deserve?
We can't become leaders of tomorrow because of our own choices. Let's limit fighting over men, let's stop ruining our reputation, and regain our self-respect and dignity, and we shall get the same from the people who have taken us for granted, as the young upcoming women.
Let's stop ruining ourselves and look forward to taking over after all the strong women I mentioned.
