Subject: Strong Condemnation of the Humiliation and Unjust Treatment of Unity State Students Sponsored by GPOC in Egypt

Dear GPOC Management,

It is with deep concern and utmost disappointment that we write to strongly condemn the recent mistreatment and humiliation of South Sudanese students sponsored by your esteemed company in the Arab Republic of Egypt.

Reports from the ground indicate that six (6) students from Unity State and ninety-seven (97) students from Ruweng Administrative Area, all under GPOC’s sponsorship, have faced degrading and discriminatory treatment. These actions are not only unjustified but also unacceptable, especially considering the vulnerability of these students, who are far from home and fully dependent on the goodwill and responsibility of your organization.

The affected students—our future engineers, scientists, and national leaders—were subjected to treatment that violates basic human dignity and the principles of equality and fairness. As a corporate entity that claims to value education and national development, GPOC has an obligation to treat all South Sudanese students equally, irrespective of their states or administrative affiliations.

We view this humiliation not only as a betrayal of the trust placed in your company by the people of South Sudan but also as a direct affront to Unity State and its people. Such conduct has long-term implications on national unity, social cohesion, and the integrity of corporate-sponsored educational program.

GOOD NEWS! SCHOLARSHIP ANNOUNCEMENT TO STUDY IN ETHIOPIA 🇪🇹 FOR THE ACADEMIC YEAR 2024/2025

✨The office of the Undersecretary, Ministry of Higher Education, Science & Technology wishes to announce to the general public that, the ministry has received one hundred and sixty undergraduate (160) scholarship opportunities from the government of Federal Democratic Republic of Ethiopia for the academic year 2024/2025. Besides, twenty five (25) positions have been allotted for Master's degree as well as three (3) positions for Ph.D. candidates.

✅Conditions & Eligibility for the scholarship

1. Applicants must be South Sudanese Nationals

2. Has South Sudan's certificate of secondary education for 2022 or its equivalence for undergraduates as well as authenticated transcript and academic certificate from recognized universities for postgraduate applicants. Nominated Ph.D. candidates should submit their master's degree thesis in both hard & soft copies for further scrutiny.

3. Has a valid copy of passport of at least 6 months validity, Age assessment/Birth certificate and two (2) colored passport sized photos.

4. For certificates obtained in South Sudan, they must be authenticated by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs & International Cooperation of the Republic of South Sudan & certificates outside South Sudan must be endorsed by the Embassy of South Sudan in that

country and authenticated by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of that country. 5. Copy of medical fitness confirming absence of contradictory evidence for studying

6. Students will be fully exempted from tuition fees, accommodation, feeding & expected to cater for visa, residence permit & Air ticket to Ethiopia.

7. The application process starts on 27th June, 2024 & ends on 10th, July 2024.

8. Application form fee is 3, 000 and 4000 SSP as administrative cost totaling to 7000 SSp
