Every morning at Boonthumme Thai massage & Tok Sen School,
we begin our day with prayer and chanting.

Not only to calm the mind,
but to honor our teachers and masters,
to invite their blessings and protection over every student,
to receive their guidance and knowledge,
and to open the path of learning.

May all negativity, bad energy, and obstacles
be released and driven away from everyone’s body and mind.

Because learning a sacred art is not only about knowledge.
It is about faith, respect, mindfulness, and practice.

In our Ched Hak class, we learn more than just the technique. We learn how to read and observe the coin according to the traditional knowledge and beliefs of this practice.

In this example, the reading reflects that the mind and thoughts appear relatively clear and bright, with a good ability to let go. However, there is still a point of tension or something that appears to remain around the neck area.

The important part is not simply what we see on the coin. We learn to observe, listen, and understand the receiver carefully before beginning the practice.

This is part of learning Ched Hak at BTM — learning the knowledge, the tradition, the experience, and the sensitivity of the practitioner.

BTM Handmade Tok Sen — Made with Love 🤎

Every BTM Tok Sen stick is handmade with care and love by elderly people from our local community who are retired.

Instead of working with a factory, we chose to support people in our community by giving them meaningful work and an opportunity to earn an income after retirement. They make each piece by hand, with patience, care, and happiness.

We choose not to add artificial finishes, dyes, or shellac. We want you to experience the natural beauty and character of the wood.

Our Tok Sen sticks are cared for with sesame oil. Each time sesame oil is applied, it naturally penetrates the wood, gradually making the wood darker and richer in color.

As the oil absorbs into the wood over time, it helps nourish and preserve it, allowing the wood to become naturally denser, stronger, and heavier. With proper care and regular maintenance, our handmade Tok Sen sticks are made to last for many years—10 years or more.

Every mark, grain, small crack, or variation you may see on the wood comes naturally from the tree and the handmade process. These natural marks do not affect the function or use of the Tok Sen stick when the wood remains structurally sound.

No two pieces are exactly the same.
