🔥 Winged Scapula – “Floating Shoulder Blade”
💥 A condition where the shoulder blade sticks out from the back like a bird’s wing — often developing without notice until pain or movement restriction occurs!
📌 Common Causes
• Injury to the Long Thoracic Nerve
• Weakness or paralysis of the Serratus Anterior muscle
• Brachial plexus nerve injury
• Trauma or direct impact to the shoulder or back
• Neurological conditions (e.g., polio, muscular dystrophy)
• Post-surgical complications (e.g., mastectomy, lymph node removal)
🗂️ Signs & Symptoms
• Shoulder blade protrudes from the rib cage, more visible during movement
• Shoulder instability or restricted range of motion
• Weakness when pushing objects
• Difficulty lifting the arm overhead
• Pain or tightness around the shoulder and upper back
🧘♀️ Care & Rehabilitation
Conservative Treatment
• Modify activities to avoid movements that trigger symptoms
