💅 Why Premium Nail Products Matter

The UK has announced a ban on TPO in cosmetic products from 15 August 2026, but at Kanita Nail Lounge, TPO-free gel is nothing new.

We have used premium TPO-free gel products from Gelish and GellyFit since we opened last year.

TPO, or Trimethylbenzoyl Diphenylphosphine Oxide, is an ingredient used in some gel polishes to help them cure under a nail lamp. It is being banned after being classified as a Category 1B reproductive toxicant and because repeated contact with uncured gel can increase the risk of skin sensitisation and allergies.

This is exactly why the quality of the products used by your nail salon matters.
