How does Master Yan work? His sessions combine several techniques, all rooted in Thai tradition: traditional Thai massage (Nuad Boran), work on the Sen energy lines, chiropractic-style manipulative techniques, energetic chakra cleansing, meditation.

In modern terms, much of this work translates into connective tissue release and nervous system regulation. But for Yan, it's above all a matter of balance — of the body, the energy, the whole person.

Anyone who wants to can simply choose a specific treatment, like a classic oil massage. But if no specific path is chosen, Yan decides how to proceed, session by session — personalizing the work and focusing it on resolving what the person is dealing with, more a dynamic journey than a single isolated session."

Who is Master Yan? Born in 1968, a former Thai elite soldier. After a difficult period in his life, he entered a Buddhist monastery. From there began his path toward traditional Thai medicine.

Since 1993 he has practiced without interruption on Koh Phangan — 33 years, thousands of people treated from all over the world, from every walk of life.

He's not a guru. He doesn't play a part. He works with his hands, his heart, and his mind — his words are never careless. He loves nature and the company of people."

Are you celebrating Makha Bucha Day on 9 February?

The story of Makha Bucha (in Thai: มาฆบูชา) is this: There was a special day some 2,500 years ago, 9 full months after the Buddha received enlightenment and 45 years before the Buddhist era. It was the full moon day of the third lunar month. On this particular day, it is believed that four “marvelous events” happened:

1,250 Shanga followers (disciples) came to see the Buddha in the evening without being summoned.
All of them were “Arhantas’ (อรหันต์, Enlightened Ones) and each of them had been ordained by the Buddha himself.
On that evening the Buddha taught them the “Ovadhapatimokha”, in other words the three main principles of Buddhism:
– To cease from all evil (mâi tam kwaam chûa / ไม่ทำความชั่ว)
– To do what is good (tam kwaam dii táng taang gaai waa-jaa lɛ́-jai / ทำความดีทั้งทางกาย วาจา และใจ) and
– To cleanse one’s mind. (tam jìt-jai hâi bòrísùt / ทำจิตใจให้บริสุทธิ์)
It was a full moon day.
