The procedure itself is important, but what happens afterward plays a major role in your final result. Especially during hot weather, paying attention to a few key details can make your recovery much more comfortable.
In the early days, keeping your head elevated is one of the simplest yet most effective ways to reduce swelling. Protecting your nose from direct sunlight is crucial in summer, as heat can increase swelling and make the skin more sensitive.
Avoiding pressure or impact on the nose, postponing glasses use according to your surgeon’s advice, and applying cold compresses regularly can all help speed up recovery. Drinking plenty of water and reducing salt intake also supports the healing process.

Here is the exact timeline for those planning a summer vacation after rhinoplasty. Follow these milestones strictly to protect your new nose and prevent permanent swelling (edema):
* Month 1: Shaded walks only. Sunscreen and a wide-brimmed hat are mandatory. (Glasses are strictly forbidden! ❌)
* Month 2: Gentle sea activities can begin, but keep your head out of the water and avoid facial strain.
* Month 3: Green light for the sea and pool! However, you should still avoid direct sunbathing during peak hours and stay away from impact-heavy beach sports.
⚠️ Remember: Direct sunlight and extreme heat can cause your nose swelling to become permanent or lead to skin discoloration.

🌟Here we are again with a cast off monent of my beautiful patient from Finland 🇫🇮. One of the hardest things to achieve in rhinoplasty is to preserve naturality with the newly designed nose that the patient can still feel like herself. This is exactly what we did in her case. It is crucial to evaluate the face as a whole and design a nose in harmony with the rest of the facial features rather than doing the same type of nose over and over again for every face.
