The pandemic has proved to decrease job security in Trinidad and Tobago which in turn has left families vulnerable to stressors that may not have usually affected their day to day.
Research points to Gender-based violence (GBV) and undernutrition being part of a vicious cycle. ... Which Increases stress levels therefore a lack basic needs and disagreements on how household resources (such as food) are managed may increase forms of domestic violence.
Additionally higher levels of food insecurity and hunger may lead women or men to exchange food for s*x.
Trini Pandemic Effects (Pilot Hamper Drive) in alignment United Nation Sustainable Development Goal 2 which is Zero Hunger directly impacts SDG 5 Gender Equality and Women Empowerment.
Our goal to reduce the likelihood of Intimate Partner Violence was sponsored by UN Women Caribbean and Spotlight Initiative through the Trinidad Youth Council.

Currently the Public Relations Officer on the board for as well as Youth Arm Coordinator on the La Romain Diabetic Support Group.
She is passionate about helping persons especially children as well as mental health and trying to break the stigma most Caribbean persons have surrounding it and is eager towards raising awareness to help combat the GBV (Gender-Based Violence) plaguing our nation.
