The $1,000 sew-in has everybody doing maths, so let’s talk 👀☕️

My micro-interlock extensions can cost four times that amount, INCLUDING the hair. An 18–20-inch installation, for example, could reach roughly $4,000 depending on the loc size, density and amount of hair needed. That’s an example, not a flat price for every client.

The real comparison? What you spend AFTER that first appointment.

A $1,000 sew-in done seven times a year adds up to $21,000 over three years, before purchasing your bundles.

A roughly $4,000 micro-interlock installation, including hair, plus six $200 reties a year comes to approximately $7,600 over those same three years.

These are my actual clients returning for maintenance. Same installation, growing hair, continued progress. With proper care and maintenance, micro-interlock extensions can last two to three years.

Both require upkeep. Both have a cost. But that upfront investment tells only part of the story.

Braiding natural hair to start locs and adding braided extensions are two different conversations. When the client’s hair starts budding, how is that added length going to blend?

And if oversized extensions were the original problem, did we address the weight and density, or just change the look?
