Retie bar discussions part 2
I’ve been thinking about something…
Why aren’t more locticians opening dedicated microloc retie bars?
Not salons that do a little bit of everything. Not a chair in the corner. An actual retie-focused business.
Microloc clients need maintenance every 8–10 weeks. That’s recurring income. Predictable scheduling. Repeat clients. No chasing trends.
If you had 2–4 locticians focused primarily on reties, with systems in place for speed, consistency, and client retention, that business could potentially cover its own rent, pay staff, and generate profit without depending on new installs every month.
Some locticians are fully booked and burnt out.
Some salon owners are struggling with overhead.
Some stylists want more freedom and don’t want to work 6 days a week.
So why aren’t we seeing more retie bars?
Is it lack of training?
Lack of systems?
Ego?
Fear of sharing clients?
Not enough microloc clients in certain cities?
I’m genuinely curious.
If someone opened a well-run microloc retie bar in your city, do you think it would succeed?
Tell me why or why not.
West Palm beach chronicles.
I have so many videos to post that I haven’t gotten around to editing but here’s my second client in WPB who flew to me from Paris 🇫🇷❤️

Okay wait 😭 y’all keep asking me how I made these little sketchbook pages sooo here 😭👇🏾
I literally just uploaded pics of myself into ChatGPT and used this prompt:
“Draw me like an obsessed fan artist filled an entire sketchbook page with me — messy doodles, random poses, cute chaotic energy, handwritten notes, little chibi versions of me, white background, no order. Add details that match my personality/style.”
Then I added stuff like:
– Trinidad flag 🇹🇹
– microlocs
– tattoos
– heart glasses
– big curly hair
– little inside jokes 😭
The results are actually TOO GOOD 💀
Nah but now I need everybody to try this because I KNOW some of y’all pages gonna be hilarious 😭
If you do it, POST IT + TAG ME because I wanna see every single one 😂

Back home from West Palm Beach and honestly… sometimes I still can’t believe this is my life.
A girl from Point Fortin who started doing locs on a couch is now touring the U.S. because of a skill she refused to give up on.
There were years of practicing, doubting myself, restarting, long hours, raising kids while building a business, and trying to perfect something that people didn’t fully understand at first.
Now Atlanta is next… and I’m getting messages from places like Japan asking about my work. That will never stop feeling surreal to me.
What’s even crazier is realizing how far this craft can actually take you if you really master it. Not just financially, but creatively too. Travel. Freedom. Connections. Opportunities you never imagined for yourself.
Sometimes I wonder why more locticians don’t push themselves to learn beyond the basics or challenge themselves creatively, because there’s really so much room for all of us to grow.
This technique changed my life.
And the older I get, the more I realize success isn’t really about going viral. It’s about building something with your own hands that people value enough to fly you across countries for.
From the couch in Trinidad to touring the U.S. is honestly wild to me.
Grateful for every client, every referral, every repost, every student, every person who believed in me before any of this looked “big.”
Anyway… Atlanta next ✈️✨
My angles aren’t the best… but this transformation is amazing right!?

Birthday behaviour 🖤✨
Just feeling really grateful today.
Thank you to everyone who has supported me over the years, my clients, friends, family, supporters, and even the people who have been quietly following my journey from the beginning. Some of you have watched me grow in real time, and that means more to me than you probably realize.
You’ve seen me build, rebuild, learn, evolve, take risks, pour into my craft, raise my babies, and keep going even during the hard seasons.
Sometimes I get so caught up in working and creating that I forget to stop and appreciate how many people have genuinely supported me along the way. So today, I’m doing exactly that.
Thank you for every booking, every referral, every repost, every kind word, every message, every moment of support. I truly don’t take it for granted. 🖤
Cheers to growth, new beginnings, and whatever this next chapter has in store for me 🥂
This video is what I wanted to do for my birthday…

Got my hair done a few days ago by as a sew in of Afro kinky curly hair from my supplier… blow dried it and wand curled it… you like?

Motherhood.
Definitely not something that is an easy feat but honestly I wouldn’t change it for the world.
5 different personalities…
5 different responsibilities…
5 stressors!😩
But 5 joys of my life.
To all the mothers on my page, HAPPY MOTHERS DAY!
I love y’all!

Taking a little pause until the end of the month 🤍
It’s birthday week for me on Monday 🎂 and I’ll also be out of the country/on tour for the next little while, so replies and messages may be slower than usual.
Thank you to everybody who continues to support me, trust me with your crown, share my work, travel to me, wait on the waitlists, and hold space for this journey. I truly don’t take any of it lightly.
Montreal appointments are currently fully booked until September and consultation updates will be posted at the end of May.
For now, I’m taking some time to reset, celebrate life a little, and come back inspired.
See you all soon 🤍
